Let’s dive into the wonderful, often messy, but always entertaining world of living your truth. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Living my truth sounds great in theory, but in practice? That’s a whole different ball game.” Trust me, I get it. Between juggling work, family, and the occasional existential crisis, who has time to find their truth, let alone live it?

But here’s the thing—living your truth isn’t about achieving some mythical state of perfection. It’s about embracing your quirks, owning your choices, and laughing at the sheer absurdity of it all. So grab a cup of coffee (or wine, no judgment here), and let’s embark on this hilariously authentic journey together.

Step 1: Embrace Your Inner Weirdness Dr H with a snake wrapped around her neck

We all have that one thing that makes us weirdly unique. Maybe you have an inexplicable love for pineapple on pizza (controversial, I know). Or perhaps you have a secret talent for yodeling. Or you, like me, have a love for snakes. Whatever it is, own it! Your quirks are what make you, YOU. So next time someone gives you a weird look for your eccentricities, just yodel louder and prouder. They’re probably just jealous they can’t hit those high notes(LOL)!

Step 2: Say No to the Naysayers

There will always be people who try to tell you how to live your life. Aunt Karen might insist that you need to settle down and find a “real” job, while your coworker Steve thinks your passion for macramé is a waste of time. Hanging artHere’s a little secret: Aunt Karen and Steve don’t get a vote. Your life, your rules. Politely smile, nod, and then go back to crafting your macramé masterpiece. They’ll come around when you’re famous for your DIY decor.

Step 3: Laugh at Your Mistakes

Living your truth means accepting that you’re going to mess up. A lot. But here’s the kicker: that’s okay! Mistakes are just proof that you’re trying. Remember the time you tried to bake a soufflé and ended up with a pancake? Or that time you thought bangs would be a good idea? We’ve all been there. The key is to laugh it off and move on. After all, every great success story starts with a few epic fails.

Step 4: Find Your Clan

Clan of females sitting at root of tree Find people who get you. Your clan should be the ones who laugh at your jokes, support your dreams, and join you in spontaneous dance parties.

Your clan are the people who will cheer you on as you navigate the wild ride of living your truth.

And if your current circle isn’t quite there yet, it might be time to expand your horizons. There’s a whole world of weirdos out there just waiting to become your new best friends.

Step 5: Keep Evolving

Living your truth is a continuous journey, not a destination. What feels right for you today might change tomorrow, and that’s perfectly fine. Stay curious, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to reinvent yourself. After all, life’s too short to be stuck in a rut. Whether you’re picking up a new hobby or making a major life change, embrace it with open arms and a sense of humour.
